my rig sounds killer!`

jammed with my drummer last night, just me and him. god i love my set up!

first issue 5150, RR5 plugged straight in.
in the loop, BBE 422a, Gmajor. everything is running through a furman power conditioner. speakers are carvin legacy 4x12 (vin 30's)

god my tone was smokin! so strong and clear. its the type of sound where you can just strike an open D chord all day and love it!

I like my 5150 tone, though I am ALWAYS searching for a new tone... does the BBE make that much of a difference?

I have seen Horns666 rave about these, but what does it do to the sound?

Glad to hear you are happy with you rig!!

As far as the BBE422 goes, some rave about them, others like myself don't like them. I felt that even on the lowest settings it made my 5150 woofy and added too much buzz for my taste. They are cheap enough though that it would be worth it to snag one and try it out!

I have the same setup and love it, but I just bought a Triple Rectifier that I am trying to ease in to my rig. As satisfied as I am with my 5150 I wanted to try something new and different. I just rehearsed with my band using the rectifier and its gonna take a while to get used to it. I almost plugged my 5150 back in since I have already found my comfort zone with that amp.

As for the bbe422 I like it, the g-major took some while to get used to but I finally dialed it in and love all the features.

I'd suggest an OD pedal over a BBE with a 5150, but 5150 + G-Major + V30's = god.
